Transmission of cars-how to tell if it has defects

The transmission is one of the most expensive parts of your to replace. There are even times when replacing the transmission system will cost more than replacing your car with a new one.So, armed with that knowledge car owners should be more careful of their cars. One of the ways to do that is to pay attention to your car. What I mean is there are signs that will alert you if the transmission is going bad. Because repairing minor problems is better and cheaper than full blown damages.

First sign you can look out for is any leaking.  A lot of times I have cars brought into my Vista auto repair shop where the problem started with a simple leak.Red leaks are what you should be on the lookout for.  If the fluid you find on the ground is red that is the transmission.  Damage happens to your transmission if you are low in fluid. If you find out that your car is leaking red fluids immediately fiill your car up with transmission fluids. Then go bring it to an auto repair shop to have the leak fixed.

Another thing that you must be on the watch for are noises and vibrations coming from the transmission of your car.  From my experience running my La Costa transmission repair shop those noises are a sign of a couple of things. It could be an indication of low fluid level.Or your car’s transmission cables are damaged.Immediately have your car checked by a mechanic to see if you have those kinds of transmission problems.

Last thing that you should be on the lookout for is an overheating transmission. That will be the biggest proof that your transmission is having problems. I see all the time cars brought into my La Costa auto repair shop that had that problem. Most of the cars were brought in too late. So, instead of just having a minor repair it became a major repair.

So by looking out for those signs you can avoid expensive repairs. It is a simple task and it can save you a lot on expenses and repairs.
